CONDITION: Very good with a fair amount of finish. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. Black leather flap holster, marked on back "jwa/4". Unmarked mag with x'ed out number on floorplate. Standard Spreewerke markings on left side of slide, 88 proof on left side of frame. Standard WWII proofs on right side of slide. Bbl has a Crown/N proof on the bottom, no German proofs. Matching numbers on slide, frame, and bbl. The Czech proofs on the left trigger guard web and frame have been defaced. This gun is a post-war Czech re-build in 1946 as designated by the "46" date on the right trigger guard web. Holster is solid with light handling marks. Bore is good with minor pitting and strong rifling. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. 148 of The P38 Pistol, Volume 2 by Warren Buxton Brown Bakelite grips. Holster is fine with strong stitching, clear markings, minor scuff marks, leather is pliable. CONDITION: Good condition with a majority of arsenal finish. Marked on back "bla/1944", WaA159 inspected. Accompanied by black leather flap holster. SN on Walther made frame has been x'ed out with a matching number electric penciled on left side, stamped on right side. There is an "X" above the SN on left side of slide. This gun is most likely a Russian capture.
